Giovanni Reyna claimed he loves team-mate Tyler Adams who returned to action for USMNT after long injury lay-off.
The Borussia Dortmund winger hailed compatriot Adams who returned after a long injury lay-off and scored in the United States men’s national team’s win over Mexico in the final of CONCACAF Nations League.
Reyna, who joined Nottingham Forest on loan in January after a disappointing outing with Dortmund in the first half of the season, claimed he loves the USMNT skipper “to death” and hoped to build a strong bond with the player in the next 10 years on and off the pitch.
Speaking to CBS Sports after the final, Reyna said, “I love him to death. I’ve had my tough moments with injuries a few years ago and I know what it takes and how hard it is. I’m just so happy for him. He’s so important to the team as a leader and obviously, as a player, you saw his performance tonight. Unfortunately, he was on minutes restriction. I would have loved to have him a bit more but I just love him. Hopefully, we can help build our relationship on and off the field for the next 10 years.”
Reyna and Adams will be next seen in action in the Premier League for their respective clubs. On Saturday, Forest face Crystal Palace and on the same day, The Cherries take on Everton.
