Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky claims that over the last two days of fighting in the Russian region of Kursk, the Kremlin’s army has lost an infantry battalion made up of North Korean soldiers and Russian paratroopers.
In his evening address, the head of state said he had received this information from the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Oleksandr Sirsky, during a meeting on the situation in Kursk, which has been partially occupied by Kiev forces since last August and borders the Sumi region in northeastern Ukraine.
“Specifically, during the battles on Saturday and Friday near a single village, the Russian army lost up to a battalion of infantry, including North Korean soldiers and Russian paratroopers,” he said in his message posted on social media.
A battalion can number between 300 and 1,500 soldiers.
