Speaking Monday at the State House of Assembly, Fintiri stated that the budget is in line with his administration’s 8-Point Agenda, which prioritizes economic development, education, healthcare, and essential infrastructure while guaranteeing inclusivity.
The governor emphasized the budget’s economic realities and said that funds were thoughtfully allocated to support Small and Medium Businesses (SMEs) in their efforts to combat hunger and poverty as well as infrastructure, agriculture, and commerce.
Over N348 billion is set aside for capital projects and N137.256 billion for ongoing costs in the 2025 Appropriations Bill.
The budget is crucial for funding government services and programs in the next fiscal year, according to Fintiri.
The bill was sent to the Finance, Budget, and Appropriation Committee for review after passing its second reading in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, which is chaired by Speaker Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley.
Speaker Wesley commended Fintiri for keeping a steady budget cycle and called him a “project master” and “focused leader” for carrying out the 2024 budget.
