WHAT HAPPENED?
Mac Allister’s Thursday evening got off to the perfect start as he scored Argentina’s opening goal in their World Cup qualifying win against Chile. But after the strong opening, he was taken off injured in the second half with what is confirmed an adductor issue, per Gaston Edul of TyC Sports.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Mac Allister was taken off but it has only been described as discomfort rather than anything more pressing, which will give Liverpool, Argentina and Mac Allister hope that he won’t be sidelined by the injury. He has remained with Lionel Scaloni’s squad but is “training differently” compared to the rest of the squad ahead of Argentina’s game against Colombia.
