Beyoncé has urged her fans to vote while cosplaying as Pamela Anderson in Baywatch.
In a new video shared on Tuesday (November 5) to coincide with the presidential election, Bey dresses up as Anderson’s iconic characters in Baywatch and Barb Wire while performing her Cowboy Carter hit “Bodyguard.”
The sultry clip, titled “Beywatch,” also features a scene showing the superstar holding up a toy gun and firing it with a small flag containing the word “vote” on it.
While it’s not billed as an official music video, the clip could certainly pass as one — which would make it a surprise exception to Bey’s rule of no longer giving her music visual makeovers.
Though Beyoncé does not explicitly state who to vote for in the video, she has been a strong supporter of Kamala Harris throughout the election cycle.
Harris used Bey’s Kendrick Lamar collaboration “Freedom” as her campaign anthem after the singer took legal action to stop Donald Trump using the track.
The former Destiny’s Child star later made a surprise appearance at a Houston rally for Harris, which was attended by around 30,000 people.
During her short speech to the large crowd, she said: “I’m here as a mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have freedom to control our bodies, a world where we are not divided – our past, our present, our future meet us here.”
She added: “It’s time for America to sing a new song. Our voices sing a chorus of unity. They sing a song of dignity and opportunity. Are y’all ready to add your voice to the new American song?”
Beyoncé has a history of performing at political events for Democratic candidates. She sang a cover of “At Last” at Barack Obama’s inauguration in 2009, as well as the national anthem at his re-inauguration ceremony four years later.
The mother of three also sang her Lemonade hit “Formation” at a rally for Hilary Clinton just before she lost the 2016 election to Donald Trump.
Other high-profile artists to back Harris include Eminem, who made a rare public appearance at a rally in Detroit, and Cardi B, who delivered her own speech at a campaign event in Milwaukee.
