BREAKING: We’re not afraid of war – Iran warns Donald Trump
In an interview with NBC News, Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian warned Donald Trump about the possibility of “war”.
“I hope that (President-elect) Trump will lead to regional and world peace and not, on the contrary, contribute to bloodshed or war,” said Massoud Pezeshkian. Diplomatic relations between Washington and Teheran have been non-existent for 45 years, and the American billionaire suggested several times during his campaign that Israel might attack Iranian nuclear facilities. During his interview in his home country, the Iranian leader reacted to Trump’s suggestion. “We will react to any action. We do not fear war, but we do not seek it,” he asserted.
Meanwhile, Iran’s head of diplomacy, Abbas Araghchi, spoke on Tuesday of a “serious” willingness on the part of France, Germany and the UK to resume negotiations on the nuclear program, following talks in Geneva, reports RTBF.
Tensions surrounding the is.lamic Republic’s civil nuclear program have only intensified since Donald Trump withdrew in 2018 from an international agreement dating back to 2015. As RTBF points out, this agreement, signed by the United States under President Barack Obama, Russia, China, Germany, France and the United Kingdom, offered Iran sanctions relief in exchange for limiting its nuclear ambitions.
