During Friday night’s episode of SmackDown, Jade Cargill was attacked by an unknown assailant and left unconscious on the hood of a car. Subsequntly, WWE would announce on social media that in the storyline, she has suffered multiple injuries, including a bruised kidney and a sprained MCL. And now, Dave Meltzer has reported that this angle was done because Cargill is legitimately injured, and the creative team has been told she will be out of action for at least three months.
We did get confirmation that Cargill is injured but the severity wasn’t known internally past those involved in creative were told it will be a minimum of three months out, maybe longer, which is why they released the story of such severe injuries.”

32-year-old Cargill initially made her name in AEW and somewhat controversially switched sides to join WWE in September 2023 after turning down a new contact. Therefore, many assumed she would be immediately pushed toward the top of the women’s division, although WWE has instead had her form a dominant tag team with Bianca Belair, seemingly allowing her to gain experience while still being in a prominent position.
