He was actively involved in the organizations that represent the construction industry in Argentina and Chile. From the beginning he directed what was later called the Petersen Group. He personally directed the creation of Foundations dedicated exclusively to education. The Petersen Group Foundations support educational and cultural projects initiated or to be initiated by provincial governments.
He actively participated in interfaith dialogue groups. A lover of baroque music, he directed the Centro Histórico Teatro Colón Cultural Association, supporting the development of the Vatican Square and promoting the installation of a giant screen and the holding of free public concerts.
