During the Premier League encounter at St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon, striker Haaland was in the wars after a clash with Newcastle defender Dan Burn. During the first half, the Norway international’s Achilles was left battered and bruised in a physical contest on Tyneside.

Despite being on the receiving end of some hefty challenges, Haaland arguably got the upper hand on Newcastle’s defence and, ultimately, City went into the break 1-0 up thanks to Josko Gvardiol’s 35th-minute opener. Anthony Gordon later equalised from the spot.
