A translation error marked a critical moment for Ileana Márquez, representative of Venezuela, during the question round of the Miss Universe 2024 pageant this Saturday.
The confusion occurred when the candidate responded to a question from Margaret Gardiner, who asked her: “Describe the ideal woman of today and what do you have in common with her? “
Marquez, trusting the translation, responded with some uncertainty about the “ideal moment” of her day, explaining that it was sharing with the other contestants. Later, the miss explained to Venezuelan TikToker ‘La Divaza’ that the translator took a while to appear and had indicated to her that the question referred to the most important moment of her day.

Despite her efforts and charisma, this incident affected her performance in the competition, leaving her in fifth place. Finally, the crown was awarded to the representative of Denmark , who became the new Miss Universe.
