Former super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama is in grief following the death of his father, Philip Enyeama.
This was revealed by the retired goalie in a tribute that was posted on his Instagram account on Saturday. It included a video of the two of them playing table tennis.
He wrote, “To God be the glory for a life well spent. You were the reason a lot of people achieved what they achieved. You were selfless and generous. You stood in for many, you fought for many to achieve their dreams.
“I am proud to have been fathered by you. It’s a series. Your number was called. Farewell. God rest your soul in peace.”
After a distinguished coaching career, Vincent’s father, Coach Phillip Enyeama, passed away at an advanced age. He is regarded for having had a major influence on his son’s early training and for having produced one of Africa’s most renowned goalkeepers.
Since his mother passed away in 2015, Vincent Enyeama has experienced additional losses.
