An expert sparked debate by explaining why it is not recommended to read the names on graves when visiting a cemetery in a recent episode of the Mexican podcast Café Globo .
According to the specialist, identified as Alain Luna , mentioning someone’s name on a tombstone could have energetic implications that many are unaware of.
What happens when you read a name?
The expert compared the act of reading a name to calling a person directly: “It’s like someone passing by you and calling you. Even if you don’t know who it is, you turn around and pay attention. The same thing happens with entities,” he explained.
According to his theory, reading the names in a pantheon could attract the attention of energies or spirits, who could follow you or manifest in unexpected ways.

The specialist clarified that not all cases have negative consequences and that everything depends on the intention with which the name is mentioned. If the purpose is respect or compassion, it may not have any adverse effect.
However, he noted that doing so out of simple curiosity or without consideration can open an unwanted channel of connection.
