Focus on your job, not politics – Ondo govt warns civil servants
The Ondo State government has given a serious warning to civil servants, telling them not to get involved in politics before the upcoming governorship election.
The Head of Service, Bayo Philip, stressed that they should stick to their jobs and avoid any political activities.
Philip stated this during the commencement of the 2024 promotion exercise for civil servants in the state.
He stressed the need to maintain neutrality and professionalism among workers in the state, urging them to focus on the duties and jobs they were employed to do as civil servants.
“I must also tell you. This is an election year. Do your job. You are civil servants and have nothing to do with partisan politics. Engage your mind more than you engage your mouth,” he said.
Philip, however, disclosed that no fewer than 4,200 workers who are due for promotion would be promoted in the state.
He maintained that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had approved the promotion of all deserving officers with attendant financial benefits.
