Footballer Among Victims of Motorcycle Accident in Olanchito Yoro

Footballer Imer Danilo Sevilla lost his life in a motorcycle accident that occurred in front of the José Trinidad Cabañas Institute , in Olanchito, Yoro, northern Honduras.
The tragedy occurred on Saturday night and left two people dead and one person seriously injured , who remains hospitalized in a local health center.
Sevilla, who was part of the second division team CD Social Sol de Olanchito , died on the spot, according to police authorities.
According to initial reports, the accident was caused by a high-speed head-on collision in a poorly lit area , although the exact circumstances are still under investigation.
Mourning for the death of a Honduran footballer
The death of Imer Danilo Sevilla has caused a stir in the sports world and in the community of Olanchito, where the young man was recognized for his talent and dedication to football.
His family has expressed their grief on social media, remembering him as a passionate sports fan and an example for young footballers.
His sister, Roxy Sevilla , left a heartbreaking message on her Facebook account, where she assures that she will always remember him.
“Always in my heart, little brother. I’m going to miss you so much, I couldn’t see you again alive, my little boy ,” he wrote in his stories.
Another one who wrote was her partner , who along with a photograph of both of them wrote: ” Why if we were so happy my love? I don’t know what will become of my life without you.”
In comments on social media, his family and friends have also remembered him as “a great person” and hope that “God has you in his holy glory.”
The accident is still being investigated by the authorities of the National Directorate of Roads and Transport (DNVT).
Deaths in traffic accidents
In the first two months of the year, a total of 2,496 traffic accidents have been recorded , according to the Online Police Statistical System ( Sepol ).
Most cases have been recorded in Francisco Morazán (1,054), Cortés (1,024), Choluteca (107) and Comayagua (53).
250 Hondurans have lost their lives in these accidents , the majority in Cortés (57), Francisco Morazán (47) and Comayagua (21).
