A drunk Honduran man was caught braving the strong currents of water caused by the recent rains, which ended up dragging him away, in the community of San José de Soroguara, north of the capital of Honduras.
During the incident, one person was heard shouting that “his life is in the way” as the man struggled against the force of the water.
The man, apparently under the influence of alcohol, did not realize the danger of the strong current of water and ventured to cross to the other side; however, he was swept away by the current.
This incident occurred last Tuesday, after heavy rains fell in the community of Soroguara.
Fortunately, the people who were there managed to rescue him alive.
This winter, the Permanent Contingency Commission (Copeco) has recorded at least seven deaths in the country due to the rains.
Authorities are urging people to remain alert and take precautions against possible flooding and landslides in the regions most affected by the rains in the country.
