Love, surprise and unexpected situations were the main ingredients in the date of a young Dominican woman who decided to share her experience on TikTok, unleashing endless reactions on social media.
In her video, the young woman recounted how she met a Honduran man, whom she affectionately nicknamed “Juan,” through the TikTok platform.
The story started out in typical fashion: funny messages, laughter and a mutual attraction. She didn’t hesitate to describe him as the perfect man.
“He was strong, with a face carved by the gods, big eyes, a beard… everything I like,” she explained. With an immediate connection, the two began to talk every day and, after several weeks of conversations, the young woman decided to meet him in person.
On the day of the date, the young Dominican woman , who had been dreaming of trying the famous Honduran food and having a good time with her “catracho”, could not imagine that the experience would take an unexpected turn. Juan invited her to his house, but what he did not tell her was that his mother would also be there.
“When we arrived, I realized we weren’t alone. Juan’s mom was there, and not only that, we spent the entire date with her!” she said in her video.
According to him, Juan’s mother seemed charming at first, but tensions soon began to arise.
During the afternoon, the lady not only constantly mentioned her son’s ex-girlfriend, but also invited her to cook together, leaving her in an awkward situation when Juan decided to sleep while she and her mother cooked.
“The mother showed me photos of her ex-daughter-in-law, she talked to me about her daughter’s nails, things about her daughter… I felt like I was invisible,” the young woman recounted, explaining that the situation was so uncomfortable that she ended up excluded in several conversations, where only the two of them were talked about.
The climax of the date came when Juan’s wife and he decided to go to the doctor’s clinic, where the young woman was left waiting in the car, with no other company than discomfort.
To top it off, the young woman had wanted to enjoy a “baleada”, a typical Honduran dish, but ended up eating something completely different, since Juan’s mother had other preferences.
They did not keep in touch
The end of the story was just as surprising. After this peculiar encounter, the young woman and Juan decided not to keep in touch. “We no longer speak to each other. My Honduran friend and I never spoke again, he didn’t write to me, nor did I write to him,” the young woman concluded with a mixture of resignation and humor.
Her story quickly went viral, with thousands of comments and reactions ranging from humor to empathy for the situation experienced.
