In a shocking turn of events during the Afcon 2025 qualifiers, Ghana suffered a 2-0 defeat to Sudan. The match took place at Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, Libya, known as the Falcons of Jediane, continue to play away from home due to the ongoing war in their country.
Despite the Black Stars boasting international stars like Inaki Williams and Mohammed Kudus, who play in the EPL and LaLiga, they have struggled to make an impact in Group F.
With this loss, they remain winless and sit on just two points, dangerously close to missing out on Afcon qualification for the first time since 2004.
Ahmed Hamed Mahmoud Mohamed and Mohamed Abdelrahman Yousif Yagoub struck two quick goals, securing a memorable victory for Sudan under coach Kwesi Appiah.
Appiah, ironically, led his home country Ghana to several successes in the past but found himself on the winning side against them this time.
Ghana must now regroup quickly, as only two games remain to salvage their campaign and avoid a disastrous elimination.
