Starting this year, WhatsApp will stop working on several phones that do not meet the minimum requirements to support the latest updates.
Starting February 1, 2025, a variety of smartphones will be left off the list of mobile phones compatible with WhatsApp , because these devices can no longer support new updates to the application.
According to reports, the messaging platform will require Android phones to have at least version 5.0 of the operating system , which was launched in 2014.
For Apple devices, phones will be required to run iOS 12.0 or higher.
These are the phones that will be left without WhatsApp
- Samsung: Galaxy Core, Galaxy Trend Lite, Galaxy Ace 2, Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy Trend II and Galaxy X Cover 2.
- LG: Optimus L3 II Dual, Optimus L5 II, Optimus F5, Optimus L3 II and Optimus L7 II.
- Huawei: Ascend Mate, Ascend G740 and Ascend D2.
- Motorola: Moto G (1st generation), Droid Razr HD, Moto E (1st generation).
- Sony Xperia M.
- Lenovo A820.
- Wiko Cink Five.
- Archos 53 Platinum.
- Great Memo from ZTE.
- iPhone : 3G and 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5C, 6S, SE and 6S Plus.
It is worth mentioning that before the WhatsApp system stops working , the application will send you notifications to remind you that you should update it.
