Why is Children’s Day celebrated in Honduras?
The Geneva Declaration of 1924 established November 20 as International Children’s Day . However, it was not until 1954 that the United Nations General Assembly recommended that each country designate a specific date to celebrate Children’s Day.
This decision was taken to ensure that children’s rights were recognized and protected at the national level. In addition, in 1996 the Code of Childhood and Adolescence in Honduras was approved, integrating the rights of children and adolescents in Honduras.
