If she wins the upcoming presidential election, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris will not meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin without Ukrainian representatives, the Democratic candidate said Monday in an interview with CBS’s 60 Minutes.
Harris was asked if she was in contact with the Russian president and if negotiations to stop the invasion of Ukraine were underway. “Not bilaterally, without Ukraine. No, Ukrainians need to have a say in the future of Ukraine. If Donald Trump were president, Putin would be sitting in Kiev right now, let’s be clear. “He says he can end the war on day one. You know what that is? That’s a surrender ,” she said.
Donald Trump has repeatedly said that if re-elected, he would significantly reduce or even end his support for kyiv. He also claims that he can stop the war within 24 hours.
