WHAT HAPPENED?

Kane was speaking ahead of England’s UEFA Nations League match against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday. Both Jack Grealish and Declan Rice represented the Boys in Green during the early parts of their career before switching their allegiance to the Three Lions. They are both now returning to Dublin for the first time since then and will heed the words of their skipper when they step out onto the pitch.

    Speaking to the media, Kane said: “We know it will be a hostile atmosphere. Jack Grealish and Declan Rice might get some stick but they made decisions on what they thought would be best for their career.”

      Both Rice and Grealish will need to be at their best if England are to get their Nations League campaign off to a winning start. Lee Carsley is vying for the Three Lions gig on a permanent basis after being considered for the Ireland job and will be relying on his experienced players to overcome the hostile atmosphere.

      Following their trip to Dublin, Grealish and Rice will head back to the English capital as the Three Lions take on Finland under the lights at Wembley.
