Following the discovery of the brutal crime, photos of the head of Mayor Alejandro Arcos Catalán began to circulate on social media, especially on Twitter , currently called X, where Arcos’ dismembered body can be seen.
The councilwoman’s head covered in blood was found on the roof of a Robust pickup truck in the Villas del Roble neighborhood, while her dismembered body was found inside the vehicle covered by gray sheets.
According to reports from the Reforma Agency, this incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. in the Villas del Roble neighborhood in Chilpancingo, where the mayor was kidnapped and subsequently brutally murdered.
Arcos’ death shocked the entire Latin American community because of the way he died and also because of the previous murders of two important figures in his municipal council.

Hours before his murder, Arcos Catalán posted on his Facebook account photographs of a tour he took in the Plan de Ayala and Yerbabuena colonies, an event that took place on Saturday but was shared on Sunday morning, without giving any indication that anything unusual was happening in his surroundings.
Hours later, information was provided about the shocking crime of which he was the victim. To date, the authorities have not been able to identify those responsible for the murder and no arrests have been reported.
