The trio elaborated on this collaboration during a recent interview on HipTV, discussing the circumstances that led to Davido’s involvement in the project.
BoyPee recounted receiving a call from Cubana Chief Priest, a close associate of Davido, who extended an invitation for him and his collaborators, indicating that the renowned artist wished to meet with them.
Subsequently, they convened in the studio to record the remix of “Ogechi” while Davido was simultaneously preparing for his own wedding.
“We mixed the song before morning and dropped it the next day. Having Davido on the remix was crazy. Cubana Chief Priest called me on video and asked me where I was.
“I told him I was on the road on my way to somewhere and Cubana told me that David wanted to talk to me.
“When I saw David, I just started shouting. He was talking to me and laughing but I couldn’t listen to what he was saying. The only thing I heard was that I should come to Cubana’s house.“So we had to rush and meet up with him and that was how the remix happened. When we got to the house, he asked them to take us to the studio that night.
“We mixed the song before morning and dropped the song the next day. He was planning his wedding when we went to the studio, we went to the studio the night before his wedding. It was God designed,” he said.
