Antonio Costa, for his part, said that the European Union must maintain its support for Ukraine, which has been fighting against the Russian invasion for almost 3 years now. “Ukraine must remain our first priority,” he said. In his speech, the President of the European Council also acknowledged that Poland was “at the forefront of the European defence capabilities that we must develop to protect our countries, our societies, our values”. According to 20 Minutes, Poland currently spends more than 4% of its GDP on defense.
