Impossible to cut off the water: Flood hits airliner in US skies
In mid-air, the cabin of the airliner turned into a veritable paddling pool.
It all started when a passenger, who had just gone to the toilet, reported a water leak. “When we saw that the staff couldn’t turn off the water, we felt total disbelief and a bit of panic,” she explains, before specifying that many passengers had to put their bags on their knees to avoid getting them wet. Luckily, the plane arrived safely at its destination, without any injuries.
While videos of the incident are circulating in large numbers on social media networks, some Internet users haven’t hesitated to seize the case to let their humor speak: “The film that was playing on board was the Titanic” one comment said. Under other images, references to the Final Destination franchise films, where characters die in improbable (and atrocious) situations, have accumulated.
For other Internet users, however, the incident is an opportunity to highlight the risks associated with this flooding in the air. “Worrying about drowning is ridiculous, but worrying about water flowing to where the flight controls are and short-circuiting them is less ridiculous,” pointed out one Internet user, visibly concerned.
