Televicentro presenter Laura Meza became a trending topic on social media after rumors of a possible relationship with Rodrigo Auzmendi , an Argentine forward for Motagua.
Speculation began after the two were spotted together last weekend, attending the stadium on Saturday and having breakfast the next day.
“We are getting to know each other, he is a good guy, very disciplined, talented in what he does. He has my admiration, my respect and my interest,” he told the program El Hilo on Channel 5.
The presenter clarified that the outing was in a friendly context, sharing with Cecilia García , girlfriend of Agustín Auzmendi , brother of Rodrigo, and that the speculations arose from a casual outing.
“Obviously we are in the gossip mill on social media because we went to have breakfast . But there is nothing more, we are getting to know each other as friends. It all started because we live in the same building, and at some point, we neighbors had to meet. He took the first step, and then I was interested in going to see him play. What he does for Motagua is admirable,” added Meza.

Rodrigo Auzmendi’s reaction
Rodrigo, for his part, played down the rumours in an interview with Grupo OPSA.
“Hahaha, I don’t know why they brought up those things. I just went to have breakfast, I wasn’t doing anything. These things happen, they always happen, but it’s better not to get into that subject and do what makes you happiest,” he commented.
Despite clarifications from both parties, the issue continues to be a focus of attention on social media, where their followers speculate about the possibility of a romance.
For now, Laura and Rodrigo agree that it is a friendship and have made it clear that the outings have been in a framework of respect and camaraderie.
