RTVE Play has released the documentary series El loco. Los silencios de Quintero , a tribute in two chapters that explores the life and career of the unforgettable communicator Jesús Quintero , which has sparked the public’s interest in more personal aspects, such as who his last wife was .
Directed by José Rueda and Rocío Cañaveras, this project presents never-before-seen images and exclusive testimonies that have captured the public’s attention, highlighting not only Jesús Quintero’s professional career, but also more intimate aspects of his personal life.
Daughters of Jesus Quintero
In this documentary, Quintero’s daughters, Andrea and Lola, along with his ex-partner, journalist Joana Bonet, offer an intimate look at the man behind the iconic interviewer. Bonet, mother of his daughter Lola, was the second of the communicator’s three wives.
Quintero’s romantic legacy includes relationships with prominent women. First, he was linked to the singer Soledad Bravo and later to the dancer Merche Esmeralda. His first marriage was with Ángeles Urrutia, Andrea’s mother, and later he married Bonet. However, his third and last marriage with María Indiano marked the last years of his life.
Maria Indiano: Jesus Quintero’s last wife
Maria Indiano, Quintero’s teacher and life partner for almost 15 years, married him in August 2020, when the presenter was 80 years old. Their relationship is described as a “beautiful love story”. Indiano was a fundamental pillar in Quintero’s later years, always remaining discreetly in the background while supporting him in his personal and professional life.
Since Quintero’s death on October 3, 2022, Indiano has participated in several tributes to the journalist, along with Andrea, his eldest daughter. Both have kept alive the memory of the man who marked a before and after in Spanish television with programs such as El perro verde or Ratones coloraos .
What did Jesus Quintero die of?
Quintero died at the age of 82 while he was sleeping, due to respiratory failure . His death took place at the Nuestra Señora de los Remedios residence, in Ubrique, Cádiz. This sad outcome marked the end of a period in Spanish communication. Now his legacy lives on thanks to projects such as the RTVE documentary.
