Who was Jimmy Giménez-Arnau?

Jimmy Giménez-Arnau , born on September 14, 1944, became known on television thanks to his relationship with Merry Martínez-Bordiú , sister of Carmen Martínez-Bordiú. With her he had his only daughter, Leticia, with whom his relationship for decades was null.

After his marriage ended, the controversial journalist focused on his professional life. For decades he worked in television and has been part of important social news formats such as ‘Sabor a ti’, ‘Tambola’ or ‘La noria’.

However, his professional life was not focused solely on television, as he was the author of the book ‘Las malas compañías’, which deals with the crime of the Marquises of Urquijo and which he wrote together with Mauricio López-Roberts.

Jimmy Giménez-Arnau studies and relationship with Sandra Salgado

He attended an English boarding school from the age of five to ten. He graduated in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1975, and that same year he graduated from the Official School of Journalism.

At the age of 33, he met Merry and they married in 1977, but eventually divorced. The journalist married two more times, but it was the last one that became the great love of his life.

In the program hosted by María Patiño, it was stated that they met on ‘Salsa Rosa’ when Sandra Salgado was an editor. They saw each other in the corridors of the network and fell in love during an interview.

Jimmy was 35 years older than his wife, but that was never an impediment, as he repeatedly said that he was in love and Salgado said goodbye to him: ” Thank you very much Belén. I didn’t get to see Madrid’s new stadium, but oh well. A big hug .”
