One of those couriers, arrested in Houston in April 2012, was carrying 1.3 kilos of cocaine that were destined for Dulles International Airport in Virginia .
This operation, although interrupted, was part of a well-oiled logistical structure that Raúl directed from the shadows.
The network of money and power
José Raúl was not only an expert in moving cocaine, but also in managing the business’s finances.
In 26 transactions, he received more than $36,000 , equivalent to 706,534.55 lempiras at the 2012 exchange rate.
This flow of money was essential to keep the network that supplied the lucrative US market operational.

Sentenced to 87 months in prison , he was released on November 24, 2021 , according to the Bureau of Prisons records .
He entered Honduras on December 3, 2021 through the Ramón Villeda Morales Airport in La Lima . According to records, he traveled to La Entrada, Copán .
