Voters across Coventry and Warwickshire will head to the polls on local election day on 2 May.
The elections are among dozens taking place across England and Wales that day.
They are a test of party support ahead of a general election, which is expected to be held later this year.
Where are elections taking place in the region?
Councillors will be elected in three local authority areas – Coventry, Nuneaton and Bedworth, and Rugby.
In Coventry, one third of seats – 18 of 54 – are up for election on the Labour-controlled city council.
Voters will pick councillors in all 38 seats on the Conservative-run Nuneaton and Bedw
It runs a range of services such as social care, education and school transport for eligible pupils.
Borough councils – such as those in Nuneaton and Bedworth, and Rugby – are parts of a larger local authority covering the entire county of Warwickshire.

There will also be elections in a third of seats – 14 of 42 – on Rugby Borough Council, which is led by a Conservative minority administration.
There will also be a vote to elect the police and crime commissioner (PCC) for the county of Warwickshire.
And voters in much of the West Midlands – including those in Coventry – will elect the region’s mayor and PCC.
What do the councils and the PCC do?
Coventry City Council is a metropolitan district and is responsible for most of the services in its area.
The role includes setting the police force’s budget and appointing its chief constable.
Who can vote in these elections?
About 1.2 million people live in the areas where elections are taking place in Coventry and Warwickshire.
You need to sign up to the electoral register before 23:59 on April 16 to be eligible to vote.
Those who have successfully registered will be able to vote in the areas where ballots are being held.
Will I need ID to vote?
Yes you will.
To vote in person at a polling station, you either need to show one of the 22 acceptable forms of ID, or a free document known as a Voter Authority Certificate, which you can apply for before Wednesday, 24 April.
When will we know the results?
We should know the results of the elections to the councils in Coventry, Nuneaton and Bedworth, and Rugby, at some point on Friday, May 3.
The result of the Warwickshire PCC election is expected to be declared on Saturday, May 4.
What happened last time when these elections were held?
In Coventry, these seats were last up for election in 2021, when the Conservatives gained one councillor and Labour retained its majority.
The seats on Rugby Borough Council were also last contested in 2021, with the Conservatives gaining two and remaining in overall control.
