Last week, the French president gave an interview to the American media Variety. He took the time to discuss several burning social issues, cultural and current affairs topics, including the explosion of AI (Artificial Intelligence), Netflix, the Olympic Games and even… Taylor Swift.
Emmanuel Macron returned to a video generated by AI, showing him dancing with the famous American singer Taylor Swift. Between disinformation, humor, awareness and harassment, this technology has the potential to create a buzz but also to worry. The French head of state recalled: “we can do all sorts of things with AI, but for vulnerable people, it can lead to depression. It can be a form of harassment. It destabilizes people, it can misinform, which can disrupt our democracies. This is something that must be regulated.”
And to end the subject on a good note, Macron highlighted the scale of the “Swift” phenomenon in France. When she came to Paris for her “Eras Tour” in May, she was a real hit. “She is one of the rare artists who manages to bring together so many people. For the French, for all generations and for the economy of the cities where she performed, it was absolutely unique.”
