Bayern Munich director Max Eberl has admitted that it will be difficult for the Bavarians to convince Jamal Musiala to sign a contract extension.

    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Musiala has been a massive star for Bayern Munich since he joined the German giants in the summer of 2019. As such, the 21-year-old has grown through his late teens as a Bayern Munich player and has won a total of four Bundesliga titles and one Champions League.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    The former Chelsea academy star has been targeted by a number of top European clubs over the last few years. Over the summer, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City have been the most heavily linked clubs with the 21-year-old, and they will be glad to hear Eberl talk about Musiala’s contract situation.

      WHAT EBERL SAID

      Speaking to German publication Sport1, Eberl said: “It’s difficult, but not impossible – as Jamal knows what he has at Bayern Munich. He grew up here and has brought himself to this level. Talks are intensifying. We are extremely ambitious, and he knows that he wants to win titles.”

    • WHAT NEXT FOR MUSIALA?

      The attacking midfielder has been a very key player for Bayern Munich in the Champions League over the last few seasons and Musiala will once again be involved for the side when they take on Dinamo Zagreb in their opening Champions League clash on Tuesday.
