A 48-year-old man was lynched by an angry mob in Jutai, a municipality in the state of Amazonas, Brazil, after he admitted to kidnapping, abusing and killing a girl who was just 1 year and 6 months old.
The case went around the world because different people who participated in the crude episode broadcast the actions through digital platforms, where all kinds of opinions were generated on the matter.
According to the official report of the Amazonas Military Police (PMAM), it was around 4:00 p.m. on September 19 when elements of the Civil Police arrested Gregorio Patricio da Silva.
After his arrest, the man admitted to having kidnapped, sexually abused and murdered a girl named Laylla, who was only 1 year and 6 months old.
In the middle of the night, an angry mob broke into the police station where he was being held and took him out. This disturbance led to clashes between the authorities and the population.
Once on the street, Gregorio Patricio was brutally beaten, then he was doused with gasoline and set on fire, causing an extremely painful death.
