The case of Marilyn Cote went viral on social media . She claimed to be a doctor from Puebla who graduated from Harvard University and promoted her psychiatric services in Mexico and the United States. She also had a doctorate in neuroscience from the American university.
However, initial reports indicated that this information could be false and that Cote did not have the certification required to practice medicine. In an interview with the media outlet 24 Horas , she assured that she has valid degrees and that she is willing to present them, although only to judicial authorities.
” I have no problem at all, my documents are completely reliable and of course, I will only show them to the corresponding authorities ,” said Marilyn Cote, without specifying what certifications she has.
It is worth noting that health authorities in Puebla, Mexico, closed his office after accusations grew about his lack of credentials to practice psychiatry.

According to records from the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), Cote holds a degree in Law from the Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP) and professional ID number 3092101, which was issued in 2000.
She subsequently studied a master’s degree in Criminology at the Colegio Libre de Estudios Universitarios, while in 2017 the Escuela Libre de Psicología accredited her as a doctor in Psychology.
