Minor Faked Her Kidnapping to Avoid Traveling To Spain
Her parents have already left for Spain! After hours of uncertainty, the minor was found safe and sound; the police reveal an unexpected twist in the case.

After several hours of anguish and uncertainty, authorities confirmed on Thursday that the 11-year-old Honduran girl , reported missing in the capital, was located and is in good health.
The minor, who lives with her family in Valencia, Spain , had been reported missing on Wednesday, March 5 at 9:00 am in Tegucigalpa.
According to her mother, Abigail Oseguera, the girl was kidnapped near her home. In a desperate message on social media, she asked for help to locate her:
“I ask for your help. Today, Wednesday, March 5, at 9:00 a.m., my 11-year-old daughter was kidnapped near my home. Friends or family, if you know anything about her, please let me know privately,” she added.
The complaint was filed at Metropolitan Police Unit No. 1 (Core-7) and the case was also taken over by the Public Prosecutor’s Office . The situation caused great concern, especially since the family was scheduled to return to Spain that same day.
What really happened?
Police confirmed on Thursday morning that the minor was found in the La Esperanza neighborhood of Tegucigalpa and that it was not a kidnapping.
According to investigations by the National Police , the girl faked her disappearance with the help of a cousin in order to delay her return trip to Spain.
“The authorities located the minor safe and sound, confirming that her disappearance was not due to a real kidnapping, but rather a planned maneuver by her and a relative who is believed to be her cousin with the purpose of delaying her return to Spain where her parents live, because ‘they would not let her leave,'” reported Miguel Martínez Madrid, general commissioner of communications for the National Police.
Authorities said the minor, who is in police custody, will undergo evaluations by Forensic Medicine to determine her physical and emotional state.
Similarly, Martinez said that the minor’s parents returned to Spain before the investigation process was completed.
Given this situation, the authorities have launched an investigation to determine the reasons for his departure and are calling on them to collaborate with the ongoing investigation.
For her part, Sandra Fúnez, director of Migration in Valencia, who, after establishing contact with the minor’s father, expressed her relief.
“I have spoken with the father and the minor is fine. She has been found, thank you all for your prayers. We await information from the authorities once all the investigations into this case are completed,” said Fúnez.
