Harry Kane has his eye on Robert Lewandowski’s record after twice making Bundesliga history with his hat-trick in Bayern Munich’s win against Mainz.
The England star fired in three times to help the Bavarian giants thrash relegation-threatened Mainz 8-1 in the Bundesliga on Saturday. He broke two records in the German top-flight, having scored his fourth hat-trick since joining Bayern.
Kane promised there is “more to come” as he celebrated his treble with an Instagram post, and also posed with yet another match ball that he will get to take home after lashing yet more goals.
The 30-year-old now has 30 Bundesliga goals to his name since joining from Tottenham, needing just 25 appearances to reach that tally. With nine games still to play, he could yet break ex-Bayern star Robert Lewandowski’s historic record of 41 goals in a single campaign in the German top-flight.
