NATO is involved in the war in Russia – Lavrov
For Lavrov, this is a response to the spread of these weapons by the United States to other regions of the world. “The United States has arrogantly ignored the warnings of Russia and China and, in practice, has begun to deploy such weapons in various regions of the world,” Lavrov said in an interview with the TASS agency.
He explained that the moratorium is currently “practically unfeasible and will therefore have to be abandoned in order to develop, he said, ‘compensatory measures’, such as the deployment of medium-range missiles like the Oreshnyk missiles, which are already planned for Belarus”.
Mr. Lavrov also rejected Western criticism of the presence of North Korean soldiers in the war in Ukraine, stressing that this participation is a response to the cooperation treaties between Moscow and Pyongyang and the escalation provoked by NATO.
“Those who accuse Russia of something should look in the mirror. NATO’s military and mercenaries are openly involved in planning and conducting military operations alongside the Ukrainian armed forces,” he said.
“NATO is involved in the invasion of the Kursk region and in long-range missile attacks on Russian territory,” Lavrov added.
