“North Korea could send up to 100,000 troops to Ukraine”
Several G20 countries fear that North Korea could send up to 100,000 troops to Ukraine to fight alongside Russian forces on the front line. So writes the U.S. news agency Bloomberg.
Cooperation between Russia and North Korea has become much stronger in recent months. The introduction of North Korean soldiers to Moscow’s side has been causing global nervousness from the beginning. Kim Jong Un also donated weapons and military equipment to Putin. Currently, there would be “only” 10,000 to 12,000 North Korean military personnel present in Ukraine and Russia, but that number could soon be multiplied. This is what many G20 countries fear. They fear that North Korea could send up to 100,000 troops to Ukraine to fight alongside Russian forces on the front lines. Those same Bloomberg sources did stress that such a thing would not be for immediate deployment and that military support on that scale – if it were to take place – would probably not be sent to the front at once, but rather in a rotation system.
