Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has shared a new video in which one of two North Korean prisoners of war shares his remarkable experiences at the front in the service of Russia.

“Communication between the captured North Korean soldiers and Ukrainian investigators continues,” Zelensky wrote Tuesday accompanying the video on X. ”We establish the facts. We are verifying all the details. The world will find out the full truth about how Russia is exploiting such guys, who grew up in a complete information vacuum, totally unaware of Ukraine and are being used by Russia to prolong and escalate this war.”

By the way, the two North Korean soldiers, aged 19 and 25, who were picked up by Ukraine did not know they were fighting in a war against Ukraine. The men themselves say so in a video, with the help of an interpreter.

And the 19-year-old North Korean was left behind by his own troops. “Because I was wounded and couldn’t move, I stayed alone for three, four or five days. Then the Ukrainians found me, administered some kind of injection and brought me here.”
North Korea sent a total of some 12,000 soldiers to Russia. According to South Korea, 300 of them have since been killed and at least 2,700 North Korean soldiers have been wounded.
