Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said in a wide-ranging interview with Kyodo News that some of the North Korean soldiers deployed by the Russian army to fight Ukrainian troops in the Russian border region of Kursk have already been killed in battle.
‘And the rest of them will be used as cannon fodder in the front lines,’ reads the not very hopeful pespective painted by Zelensky.
The Ukrainian president added that his country still needs additional military support and he extensively reiterated his desire to be invited as a NATO member. That his army is struggling to recapture Russian-occupied territories, he readily admitted. ‘Our army is not strong enough to do that, that is true. We have to find diplomatic solutions. But we can only do that if we are strong enough to ensure that Russia will not launch additional attacks.’
