The 97th Academy Awards ceremony has just kicked off in Los Angeles.

Below are the winners of the Oscars:

  • Kieran Culkin wins best supporting actor for ‘A Real Pain’

American actor Kieran Culkin won the Oscar for best supporting actor on Sunday for his performance in ‘A Real Pain’, beating out Edward Norton (‘A Complete Unknown’), Guy Pearce (‘The Brutalist’), Jeremy Strong (‘The Apprentice’) and Yura Borisov (‘Anora’).

  • Flow, Best Animated Feature Film

After emotionally thanking his family, Zaldaña spoke proudly of his origins.

“My grandmother came to this country in 1961. I am the proud daughter of immigrant parents with dreams and dignity and hard-working hands. I am the first Dominican-American to accept an Academy Award, and I know I won’t be the last. The fact that I am receiving an award for a role in which I had the opportunity to speak and sing in Spanish, my grandmother, if she were here, would be so excited. This is for my grandmother,” she said.

  • Wicked, best production design 

Nathan Crowley and Lee Sandales win the Oscar for best production direction for  Wicked.

  • Evil, Best Original Song

Evil wins the Oscar for best original song for Emilia Perez, the second of the night for the film. Mick Jagger presented the award for best original song as a surprise.

  • The Only Woman in the Orchestra, Best Documentary Short Film

‘Anora’ wins the Oscar for best film and is crowned with five statuettes as the big winner of the night. The winner of the Cannes Palme d’Or also grants its director Sean Baker four statuettes.

Red carpet

The most prestigious event in cinema kicked off on Sunday with its traditional red carpet. Nominated directors such as Brady Corbert and RaMell Ross , as well as actors such as Jeff Goldblum, have already walked down it. Janet Jang, president of the Hollywood Academy, was also present.

Glamour was in full display along the 900-foot walk to the entrance of the Dolby Theatre. Among the first to arrive were actress and dancer Julianne Hoigh and presenter Nischelle Turner. The gala will be hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien.

Guests wore vibrant and original outfits. Actresses such as Bresha Webb and Joan Chen opted for bright colours, while Italian Alba Rohrwacher opted for an elegant black Valentino design with a skirt with three pleated flounces.

Actress and singer Ariana Grande also dazzled as one of the first to walk the red carpet.

Among the men, Omar Apollo stood out, wearing a hairnet headdress and a handkerchief as a tie, and director RaMell Ross, who joined in with this style. Meanwhile, the British Kit Connor, known for his role in Heartstopper , chose a classic tuxedo with a white shirt and tie, complemented by a diamond brooch.

As always, the big stars will be the last to arrive, closing this fashion show in which haute couture brands take centre stage through the spectacular looks of actors and actresses.

In Honduras, they will be televised on  Telecadena 7/4, a channel of the Televicentro Corporation . The prelude will begin at 5:00 p.m., while the ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m.
