The Polish Foreign Ministry reported Tuesday that the Russian consulate in Poznan will be closed. Warsaw accuses the Russians of “sabotage” and waging a “hybrid war.”
“I have received indications according to which Russia is behind sabotage attempts in Poland and in allied countries. Therefore, I have decided to withdraw permission from the Consulate of the Russian Federation to operate in Poznan,” Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski told the press.
The Russians reacted dismayed, promising a “painful response to any new hostile measure.” So states Russian diplomatic spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, quoted by the Ria Novosti news agency.
