Poland is ready to supply electricity to Ukraine, Climate and Environment Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska said on Tuesday.
She’s referring to threats that Slovakia could cut off electricity supplies to its neighboring country. Indeed, Slovak Prime Minister, Robert Fico, who is pro-Putin called Ukraine’s decision to block the transit of Russian natural gas through its territory, a measure that came into effect on January 1, a sabotage. He also announced retaliatory energy measures.
“Poland will be able to increase its electricity sales to Ukraine, but only if Ukraine asks for it,” Hennig-Kloska told public broadcaster TVP Info.
“Our operator’s ready, it’s only a question of whether Ukraine wants or has to use it. Mr. Fico’s behavior goes against Europe,” she added.
