Pregnant woman trapped by river flood rescued in Campamento, Olancho

A 30-year-old woman, in an advanced state of pregnancy , was rescued this Sunday by members of the Fire Department and agents of the National Police, after being trapped by the sudden rise of a river in Campamento, Olancho.

The incident occurred when the woman, who is nine months pregnant, was trying to cross a vulnerable part of the community and became stranded due to the increased flow of water.

Neighbors immediately alerted the authorities, who launched a rescue operation to ensure their safety.

After being secured, the woman was transferred to a health center for a medical evaluation to rule out complications.

Authorities have reiterated their call to the population to avoid crossing rivers or flood-prone areas during the rains, which continue to represent a risk in several areas of the department.

This case is one of many rescues that took place this weekend with the aim of protecting lives in critical situations resulting from extreme weather.
