The Secretariat for National Risk and Contingency Management ( Copeco ) predicted that for this Saturday, September 28, 2024, a surface trough and the convergence of humidity and wind from the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean will cause rain and showers accompanied by electrical activity in most regions of Honduras .
According to the entity, the southern, southwestern and western regions of Honduras are expected to be the most affected by the rains , registering the highest accumulated precipitation.
In addition, the Intertropical Convergence Zone ( ITCZ ) is located near the Honduran Pacific, intensifying the probability of precipitation in these areas.
Weather conditions and temperatures
Temperatures will therefore vary across the country, with some regions experiencing heat while others will face a cooler environment.
Meanwhile, in El Paraíso , the maximum temperature is expected to reach 27 degrees Celsius, accompanied by light rain, while in Francisco Morazán , the weather will be a little warmer, reaching 30 degrees and with thunderstorms expected for the day.
Thank God , on the other hand, it will be a hot day, reaching 31 degrees, with a chance of moderate rain. Meanwhile, Intibucá will experience a cooler environment with a maximum of 25 degrees and light rainfall. In the Bay Islands , the weather will remain dry and warm, with temperatures of up to 33 degrees.
Likewise, in Colón and Comayagua , temperatures will rise to 34 degrees, with Colón presenting mostly clear skies and Comayagua under the influence of storms.
Finally, in Olancho , temperatures will reach 31 degrees with moderate rainfall, while Yoro will remain around 30 degrees, accompanied by light rainfall.
In this regard, the population is advised to pay attention to Copeco updates and take precautions, especially in areas where thunderstorms and heavy rains are forecast.
Waves and moon phase
The waves on the Caribbean coast will be moderate, reaching between 1 and 3 feet, while in the Gulf of Fonseca they are expected to vary between 1 and 5 feet.
As for the lunar phase , it is in its last quarter , which could influence maritime activities in the region.
In addition, the sun rose at 5:38 in the morning and will set at 5:41 in the afternoon, according to Copeco’s forecast.
