Zubimendi has been attracting interest from clubs around the world since the summer window after he played an important role in Spain winning the European Championship. The Spaniard was closely linked with a move to Premier League giants Liverpool just days before the transfer window closed, however, the player eventually declined the offer and decided to stay back at Real Sociedad.

Despite the snub in the summer, the Reds remain interested in the midfielder and have been joined by league rivals Manchester City in their transfer pursuit. Now Marca reports that Real Madrid have also shown interest in the 25-year-old who has a release clause of €60million (£50m).
