Angélique Angarni-Filopon, a native of the Caribbean island of Martinique and a flight attendant by profession, has won the Miss France 2025 pageant at the age of 34, becoming the oldest winner in the history of the award, which has been held for 95 years.
“It’s a dream I’ve been pursuing. At 34, I have a different outlook on life and I want to be an inspirational woman on a large scale. This shows that there is no expiration date for women who want to be Miss France,” said the winner, who entered the competition as Miss Martinique.
The flight attendant, who was born on October 9, 1990, and works for the small French airline Corsair, was selected as Miss France for the 2025 edition after the beauty pageant’s competition criteria eliminated the 24-year-old age limit a few years ago.
Applications from transgender women who have changed their marital status are now accepted after additional criteria were changed two years ago.
The other requirements are to not use tobacco or alcohol in public and to be at least 1.70 meters tall.
