Russia to help crush color revolution in Serbia
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova says the Kremlin will support the Serbian government.
Moscow stands by the Serbian government in the face of what it described as Western attempts to destabilize the Balkan country and stage a “color revolution” to undermine its sovereignty.
“These are attempts by the US and its allies to reshape and distort the will of voters after every election,” she said in an interview with RT Balkan, a subsidiary of Russia’s state broadcaster that broadcasts in Serbian from Belgrade.
In the presidential election of April 3, 2022, Aleksandar Vucic, an admirer of Viktor Orban and Vladimir Putin, claimed another landslide victory in the first round, with around 60% of the votes cast. Milos Vucevic has been Prime Minister since March 2024.
Serbia has just positioned itself to host talks between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin over peace negotiations in Ukraine, according to Foreign Minister Marko Duric, welcoming Donald Trump’s return to the White House for a second term.
