Russian Oreshnik missile could not have existed without western technology
Following this strike, Vladimir Putin announced that the new missile could be used again in Ukraine if the local army continued using Western weapons to target sites within Russia.
An investigation by the Financial Times revealed that Western companies played a key role in enabling the development of this new weapon. Meanwhile, Moscow has openly advertised job openings to recruit top-tier engineers.
The Moscow Institute for Thermal Technology (MITT), one of the organizations behind the Oreshnik missile, has made no secret of its intentions. It explicitly states that it hires talent from companies such as Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain—the first being Japanese, while the latter two are German.
Despite Western sanctions, Russia continues to acquire the materials and technology needed to manufacture new weapons.
