In her emotional message, Funke criticized the practice of recording movies in cinemas, calling it piracy and urging everyone to put an end to it, as it harms the industry.
“SAY NO TO PIRACY!!! Recording short videos at the cinemas is piracy!!! Please stop it!!! Piracy is killing us!! I worked so hard on this project. Please, I’m pleading, do not be caught promoting piracy!!!” she wrote.
Funke revealed the enormous time and resources she put into her film, emphasizing the negative effects of piracy on creators.
She concluded by describing the security measures implemented to combat piracy during her film’s release, which included arresting violators.
